Royal Aberdeen Golf Club

Royal Aberdeen is one of the true greats of Scottish links golf, the game has been played on this very site since around 1589, with the golf club itself not formed until 1870 and it boasts the honour of being the 6th oldest in the world.

The course is laid out with 9 holes out and 9 back, it is the archetypal links, and though James Braid was employed mainly to work on the bunkering, very little has been altered from Archie Simpson’s original course design.

The holes meander through the fascinating dune formation offering super views of the North Sea. Always in immaculate condition the course held the prestigious "Scottish Open" and received plaudits from many of the players.

You will rarely find a Championship course in better condition then Balgownie Links at Royal Aberdeen.
