Boat of Garten Golf Club
In 1898 The Boat of Garten Golf Club was founded by James Braid who was a very famous course designer as well as a magnificent player. An 18-hole heathland golf course nestled between the River Spey and the Steam Railway line in the centre of the magnificent Cairngorms National Park.
The championship courses at Castle Stuart, Royal Dornoch and Nairn are within easy travelling distance and if you add in The Boat you have a fantastic Highland golfing experience ahead. Since it was opened in 1932, the 18-hole course has been tweaked a little but the remarkable individuality of the holes is still unmistakeably present in the delightful design that threads through the silver birch, heather and gorse.
A feature of "The Boat" is the spectacular backdrop provided by the famous and stunningly beautiful Cairngorm Mountains.
Another very natural asset is the array wildlife with the occasional Osprey and deer a particular feature. A special treat is arriving by steam train if you are staying at The MacDonald Resort in Aviemore which can add to the many great memories you are sure to have on one of our golf vacations to Scotland.
